Rich and I and the rest of the Republicans in the House, we did the right thing on September 19th, well in advance of the September 30th deadline. We gave the Democrats literally what they asked for, a short-term, clean, nonpartisan CR. By the way, the same one they supported six months ago and the same one that they voted for 13 times under Joe Biden. And then what happened? It passed with a simple majority in the House. All the Republicans and one Democrat voted for it. All the other Dems voted no, went over to the Senate and you need Sixty votes to get it through the Senate. We got fifty-three senators, so we need Democrats, and Chuck Schumer shut it down.
