The Truth About the Current State of Our Youth

The reality facing our youth, especially young black men in America today, is sobering. But ignoring it isn’t an option if we want to build a stronger future. So let’s start with the facts. According to recent reports, approximately 70% of black children are born out of wedlock and the fatherless crisis is deeply intertwined with many of the challenges our youth face. Without strong involved fathers, children are more likely to struggle academically, emotionally and socially. They’re more likely to drop out of school, get involved with gangs and fall into criminal activity.

ATLANTA – This episode tackles the harsh realities facing our youth—broken families, economic hardship, and rising crime that threaten our communities and our future. We explore how outdated policies, mental health crises, social media, and declining work ethic are fueling a cycle of despair. It’s time to face the truth and take action—strengthen families, create real opportunities, and restore accountability. Our future depends on leaders willing to be honest and do the hard work. Joining us is my brother, William Jones, an advocate for at-risk youth and mediator, who works directly to turn this crisis into a path of hope and change.
