
Changing the fuel economy standards are not overnight going to cause the cost of these new vehicles to drop significantly. But what they will do is give the automakers flexibility to design, build and sell different lines and models of vehicles that Americans are going to want to buy. And so if you if you meet the demand and allow people to buy more vehicles at affordable levels, then you start to see that range of choices come into the market.
