Kincade’s Random Thoughts for 5/3

FALCONS REACHED ONCE AGAIN

The NFL Scouting Services composite tells the tale. No team in the NFL reached more on their first 2 draft picks in 2016 than the Atlanta Falcons. They do not provide us with the answer why? I can’t figure it out.

If you reach and draft a player far before they are projected to come off the board, then you have such conviction in your ability to evaluate talent you have to make the move. The problem is that there is no reason for the Falcons to be arrogant enough to believe they have outsmarted their peers. Fact is, they have a resume of failure.

The 2016 Draft is going to take a while to play out. Nobody can grade a draft until we see these players perform on the field. History says, be skeptical. Be a fan, but be skeptical.

HAWKS WILL BATTLE BETTER IN 2016

They were built for this by a GM that knows exactly what the coach wants.
The Coach knows how to get the GM to do exactly what he wants.

Tdownloadhe Hawks made the choice to give both jobs to the same guy. Last year it ended in disaster, so he remade the roster to be better. They better prove it over the next few weeks.

My guess? The Hawks play a better brand of playoff basketball and win 2 games.

BRAVES SHOULD HAVE KNOWN THIS WAS COMING

Fredi Gonzalez is rumored to be facing the firing squad after the disaster of a 6-18 start. I will continue to say that this makes no sense.

You sent the man into a gun fight with a knife. A rusty pen knife for that matter. To expect this team to be a contender was crazy, but you did have a right to expect them to not be horrible. My rule stands. Memorial Day is about a third of the season. At that point I will gladly check the standings and could discuss a managerial change. Before that makes little sense for a team not built to win.
