Please don’t let Cleveland win the NBA title this year. If they do, Atlanta will unequivocally be the worst sports city in the country. No debate, no argument!

If the Thunder win the NBA title, Billy Donovan will join a VERY select group of one coach to win both the NBA and NCAA titles. Since you guys are the experts you probably know that the one member is…..Larry Brown with Kansas (1987-88) and the Pistons.(2003-04) Although no sanctions were levied against Brown and the Championship team of 1988, things got pretty rough shortly after he left (after the Championship season) as Kansas was banned from the NCAA Tournament in 1989, due to numerous violations, becoming the only team in NCAA history to be unable to defend their title.
If I remember correctly Donovan won two titles at Florida (I’m a Gator – of course I know he did), and I also don’t remember any major violations of any sort during his tenure (Course as a Gator, my memory may be a bit hazy). Actually they had three minor ones, costing Donovan two recruiting visits, not quite being banned from the “Dance”
As I said months ago, since we know no Atlanta team will ever win a title, we need to become fans of other cities….so

I would imagine most of the married guys have beautiful girlfriends here in the ATL. Do you really think they want to move their wives here? They’d have a lot of ‘splainin’ to do as to why they’re always out of the house even during home stands.

That’s an interesting theory and frankly, one that makes a lot of sense. Why else would you not want to play in one of the greatest cities in America? Because you’re already getting plenty of “playtime” in Atlanta.
