On Fox Across America with Jimmy Failla, Fox News Contributor Johnny “Joey” Jones” explains why athletes should not be attacking the United States by protesting when they are representing them at the Olympics.

“I hope they understand, the athletes, to the point of the Olympics is not for us to celebrate how awesome they are at a completely irrelevant task. The point of the Olympics is for countries to have a platform to compete against one another without killing one another. And that’s quite an outlet. I mean, you can’t tell me that things like Miracle on Ice or just things like that probably wasn’t helpful to prevent other types of nuclear destruction in the Cold War. I mean, it’s a it’s an outlet. It’s an avenue for people to be competitive and to measure up against

one another as different cultures and different countries and to be known for being good at something. You can be a Nordic country that’s not very good at anything, but maybe you’ve mastered the long jump on skis. To be relevant on the world stage as a nation, as a people, as a culture. Well, how can you celebrate that if you are the same people who are attacking the nation, the people, the culture, what makes you unique and different things, like American exceptionalism, or work ethic or anything about this country, capitalism, or our ability to lead on the world stage. Of all those things, If you’re undermining them in your day to day life, what what makes you think people give a crap to tune in and watch you be good at basketball or what you be good at?”
