Aperture 25: Identity Politics takes over the Arts and Motion Picture Academy

Evaluating a film on the sum of its merits like plot, acting, script writing and cinematography appears to be going the way of the Dodo.

Neal tells us what’s in store for film makers in the future if they want to be considered for an Oscar for “Best Picture”. In a nutshell, they will be required to report the gender, gender ID, sexual preference, race, and everything else about their group identity. If this is not complied with, then the film automatically disqualifies itself as a candidate for best picture.
