Nobody likes a liar! Truthfulness is the one thing everyone should insist on in every relationship they have. In society, this “prime directive” is the basis for how we do business ethically, adjudicate law fairly, and form interpersonal bonds with one another. If that truthfulness is swapped for a lie, everything falls apart.

Businesses that lie to consumers about their products or services don’t last long in the marketplace nor do the fortunes built on those lies. Just ask the executives that ran Enron or Elizabeth Holmes who ran the faux-company Theranos.

This is now where I find myself with CNN and its headquarters here in Atlanta. For decades, it was a source of pride for the city and it actually reported news. It helped usher in a golden age of broadcasting as part of Turner Broadcasting stable of cable stations and revolutionized how news was delivered to the masses. Atlanta and CNN became synonymous with one another and it seemed to be a perfect marriage.

But things change over time.

CNN has become a lying spouse. The type that will get stone cold busted running around on you, boldly deny it ever happened despite overwhelming evidence, and then get mad because they got called on it by you! Once “The most trusted name in news”, CNN has instead devolved into “The Most Busted Name In News”.

Last week, Brian Stelter, host of CNN’s “Reliable Sources”, was speaking at a seminar entitled “Disinformation and the Erosion of Democracy”. This seminar was arranged to specifically discuss the rise of “fake news” in the media and to allow students to interact with Stelter and others who work in these fields.

At the conference, Christopher Phillips, a first-year student at the University of Chicago and reporter for the libertarian-leaning newspaper “The Chicago Thinker”, asked Stelter specifically about CNN’s “reporting errors” of the last few years.

Cited by Phillips as examples were CNN pushing the Trump Russian Collusion Hoax, their refusal to investigate the Jusse Smolette Hoax, labeling Justice Brett Kavanaugh as a rapist during his confirmation, referring to Nick Sandman as a “white supremacist”, and claiming the Hunter Biden laptop was “Russian disinformation” and a fake.

Phillips pushed his point further by saying, “All the mistakes of the mainstream media and CNN, in particular, seem to magically all go in one direction. Are we expected to believe that this is all just some sort of random coincidence or is there something else behind it?”

Stelter’s response was truly an amazing case of gas lighting! He denied everything Phillips brought up saying, “My honest answer to you…is that I think you’re describing a different channel than the one that I watch, but I understand that that is a popular right-wing narrative about CNN.”

This is classic! According to Stelter, none of the incidents cited by Phillips happened and he implies that Phillips is a dupe who fell for a “right wing narrative”.

Stelter continued, “I think it’s important, when talking about shared reality and democracy, all these networks, all these news outlets have to defend democracy. And when they screw up, admit it.”

Stelter’s response absolutely defies reality, but sadly this is the standard modus operandi of CNN’s legion of liars masquerading as journalists. Phillips exposed Brian Stelter for the fraud and liar that he is, exposed CNN for its pathetic journalistic standards, and has shown the world through his viral video that CNN is a propaganda outlet for the left and nothing more.

Which now brings me to my point: CNN, could you please just take your lying backsides out of Atlanta? I really need you to move your headquarters out and go shack up somewhere in New York or Los Angeles. Take your pick.

You can keep custody of Don Lemon and Brian Stelter and I won’t even make any demands on visitation. They’re all yours, all I ask is that I can keep the cat.

I need you out because I can’t take the lies any more. You’ve become an embarrassing shell of your former journalistic self and are a constant source of mental abuse. Worse, you’re making the city look bad.

I can’t trust you to tell the truth any more CNN. I don’t want you around my house or place of business anymore and I don’t want you in my city. I have to live here and don’t want to hear from the neighbors in Charlotte, Nashville or Birmingham about your lying ass making up stories and spreading lies.

I’m done with you, CNN Take your trash out of my town! So long, sayonara, adios. Don’t let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya & bless your heart.
