Kurtz called out the media’s one sided coverage by saying, “I’ve never seen anything like this in my professional lifetime. Since Friday morning, when the role reversal came down. And it is true that the court’s credibility is under attack. It is true there’s a Gallup poll showing 25% approval for SCOTUS. It is true that what the court has done is far from settling. The ROE issue, I think has reignited more legal battles to come, certainly in 50 state capitals. But nevertheless, I have the old fashioned you like you do, that journalists should be fair to both sides. And yet the way it’s being framed, the language that’s used, is this is a horrible thing. This is five unelected judges. It’s very interesting because it’s always thrown as an insult when the ruling goes against your ideology. They’re unelected judges. Well, the seven justices who handed down Roe v Wade in 1973 were unelected justices as well.”
